Jose Mourinho Reveals the Truth About Manchester United

Jose Mourinho's Recent Remarks Echo Predictions About Manchester United's Future

Jose Mourinho's recent comments still hold value as the club undergoes changes in the upper echelons.

It appears that Jose Mourinho's recent comments closely mirror what he said about Manchester United over four years ago.

"After the first two months of working, I told the Manchester United hierarchy that with these individuals (referring to certain players and club executives), the team could not achieve greatness. This group includes not only players. And now, they are still present at Manchester United," Mourinho stated on the OBI One podcast.

In May 2019, Mourinho asserted to L'Equipe, "The issues are there, you can say it's about the players, the organization, and the ambitions of Manchester United."

Of the current Manchester United squad, Victor Lindelof, Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial all played under Mourinho.

During a conversation with John Obi Mikel, Mourinho revealed, "At Manchester United, I substituted a player in the first half, and later, the player's agent accused me of bullying that player. That made me change. Sometimes, I reminisce about that period and laugh."

The player in question is believed to be Shaw. Mourinho never utilized an immature player like Shaw, who once arrived late for training because his mother overslept and failed to wake him up. In one training session, a coach even seemed superior to Shaw.

At this point, Shaw has matured and is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League. "He is a man now," Mourinho commented last season.

One of the "people who are still there" that Mourinho mentioned might also be Martial. This could be the last season the French striker is associated with Old Trafford. Mourinho requested Martial's sale in July 2018, but Joel Glazer and Ed Woodward opposed the idea.

To Martial's credit, when things became difficult in Mourinho's final months, he delivered the best performances of his career, scoring 6 goals in 7 matches. Martial ended the season with more goals under Mourinho than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, Martial's standout moments at Manchester United can be counted on one hand. He frequently suffers from injuries and has yet to fully realize his potential. Marcus Rashford has had his ups and downs. This player has also lost his way.

Most importantly, the Manchester United leadership has not relinquished power. Over the past year, there were times when it seemed the Red Devils would undergo a transformation and be sold to Qatar's owners. But nothing happened. The Glazer family still holds power and promises to maintain this for years to come.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is preparing to take over Manchester United's sports division, but there are no signs that the team at Old Trafford will truly embark on a new era. They remain in a state of chaos.
